A Journey of Adaptation and Growth:
The Story of Aye Thandar Si
Hello! My name is Aye Thandar Si, and I am originally from Burma, also known as Myanmar. I speak Burmese and have been living in the United States since 2019. My journey to America began when I married my husband, whose work brought us to Houston, Texas.
I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree, majoring in IT, from Yangon Technological University. Before moving to the United States, I worked as a website and web application developer in the banking industry in Myanmar. For four years, I was employed at Ayeyarwaddy Bank as a software engineer, where I developed websites and web applications using CMS (WordPress), PHP (Laravel framework), MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
In addition to my professional skills, I have a variety of hobbies that enrich my life. I enjoy creating websites, cooking, decorating interior spaces, traveling, and writing blogs to share my experiences. I am also a coffee enthusiast who loves both consuming and making coffee. To combine my love for travel and writing, I created a Facebook page named “H-Town Diary by Si.” In my free time, I often cook Burmese cuisine and explore new places.
My strengths include honesty, being a quick learner, hard work, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities. However, I also recognize my weaknesses, such as having trouble saying “no” and being introverted and shy.
Despite the challenges of adapting to a new country, I have embraced the opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. My journey is a testament to resilience and the pursuit of dreams, no matter where life takes me.
